2009 has seen some big changes and improvements at Celtic Camping here at Pwll Caerog farm. With a refurbished toilet/shower block and communal area we now have the ability to accommodate larger groups of schools, colleges and universities. Along with a new kitchen we also have the facilities to provide indoor camping, with a new indoor marque and camp beds allowing us to host large groups of 10 – 150. With the British climate the indoor camping has proved to be a huge success, taking the vagaries of the weather out of the equation.

At Pwll Caerog farm we also have the unique ability to combine farming and educational programmes with our “from field to plate” project, conservation activities, orienteering and guided farm tours. All of which are able to be combined with sea-based adventure activities such as kayaking, coasteering and surfing delivered by activity specialists such as Adventure Beyond and T.Y.F who work closely with us.

This year saw Chosen Hill Schools first visit to Pwll Caerog Farm. Camping indoors the 100 pupils enjoyed the comforts of our new indoor marques sleeping on camp beds.

Each day the pupils worked hard on various outdoor activities including coasteering, kayaking, canoeing, climbing, abseiling, and surfing with Adventure Beyond, whilst at night relaxing on our on site shingle beach Aberpwll, and playing various team games.

On the last night a goodbye BBQ and bonfire revealed that Chosen Hill has some of the best camp songs around, and even better still some of the best break-dancing teachers known to man!

We would like to say a big thank you to Richard Knight and all the staff and pupils who came along, the children were a credit to themselves, their staff and the school.

We look forward to seeing you all again next year for another memorable week!

 This year saw Eagle House School’s first visit to Pwll Caerog Farm. Staying in the bunkhouses, the 40 pupils took part in various outdoor activities each day, including coasteering, kayaking, climbing, abseiling, canoeing and surfing.

After working hard all day out on activity sessions pupils enjoyed well earned breaks relaxing at the on site shingle beach of Aberpwll each evening.

As with all school groups, this year we were very impressed with how polite and well behaved the pupils were. We would like to thank you all for coming, and we look forward to seeing you again!
